Hello,
I kind of stumbled onto this site yesterday
and I wanted to say that it seems very
unique compared to everything else.
I have a question for the owner, Brett, and
then a few comments.
First of all my name is Will and I am from
West Palm Beach, Florida.
In '99 I visited Kiev twice and spent a
couple of weeks there each time. I had a
girlfriend there and stayed with her in an
apartment I had rented.
One thing that left an impression on me is
that I never met or even saw another
American there. Very much unlike Moscow and
Saint Petersburg where it seems that about
2% of the population are expats.
I met alot of Ukrainian people who had never
met an American before. Everyone wanted to
have their photo taken with the American for
some reason. It's funny but after awhile I
started to feel like some kind of celebrity.
It was a hell of alot of fun and the people
were fantastic.
I am wondering if now in '05 are there many
Americans in Kiev?
I would also like to say that I have never
seen so many good looking single women in
one place before. I've been to Eastern
Europe more that 20 times in the past 6
years. Mostly Moscow, St Pete, Sochi, and a
few other places in Russia.
I find that Ukrainian women are much more
friendly and open than Russian women. Maybe
because of the western European influence. I
don't know. But I have dated several very
beautiful Russian women and had serious
relationships with a couple but always felt
there was a void that I could never quite
put my finger on. The language barrier was
not a problem since most of them at least
spoke enough English to get by and a couple
of them were very fluent. They all seemed in
some way to have something to hide. Some
kind of hidden agenda. The big secret that
can never be told. I never experienced this
with Ukrainian women.
Moscow is an extremely unfriendly place.
Very much different than Kiev. I can not
remember even once feeling like an outsider
or being treated rudely by any of the
Ukrainian people I came in contact with.
Even the taxi drivers were easy to deal
with. But I could write a book about Moscow
and some of the rude, selfish people there.
I really believe that the women reflect the
attitude of the population in general and
Kiev is the greatest.
My advice to any single American guy
traveling to Kiev for the first time is
this. Be carefull. You could very well be
overwhelmed by the sheer number of pretty,
single, friendly and available women all
located in one place.
