I just returned from Kiev on October 18 and had a great 10
days there.
Kiev Connections was a great asset to me while I was there.
I was picked up at the airport by Tanya and brought directly
to my apartment in the middle of the city. I don't know how
I would of gotten there otherwise. I HIGHLY suggest getting
KC to pick you up at Borispol if you are arriving in Kiev
for the first time.
I also signed up for the matchmaker program, I got lucky and
had five beautiful women waiting to meet me when I arrived.
Even more, I liked the first one a lot, the second girl was
even better, and I never made it past the third one. I hit
it off very good with my third date and we spent the rest of
my time there together.
Kiev is great city, it's kind of rough on the outskirts, but
the inner city could rival Munich and Prague. I picked up on
a few things while there, I will list a few tips for anyone:
-The water will not kill you, but drink bottled whenever
possible. I had some situations where I had to drink tap
water, and I didn't get sick. But, better safe than sorry.
-Stay away from the police unless it is an absolute
emergency. You will asked to show ID pretty much everytime,
especially at night. This means your passport AND
immigration form. If you don't have both, off to the police
station you go.
-Yes, there are groups of thugs, skinheads, whatever walking
around the city, but as you would anywhere in the world,
don't attract attention to yourself. If you wear a bright
yellow Disneyland shirt and a baseball hat, then you are
asking to get bothered by virtually anyone, including the
police! I was there when the Scotland fans got attacked in
Independence Square on Oct 10. But, I will tell you as a
witness that the Scotland fans were in a group of about 500,
and yelling and singing wildly all night. It doesn't take a
rocket scientist to assume the locals were ready to snap and
eventually the skinhead goons decided to act. But, it
doesn't justify violence.
-I can honestly vouch for Kiev Connections. They can help
you with any questions while in Kiev, they can get you a
cell phone for rent, trasnsportation, etc. The staff members
are nice and helpful. I would recommend their services to
anyone going to Kiev.
I'll be back in Kiev in a few months to visit my girlfriend
and hopefully take the next step.
Thanks Kiev Connections!
